The dirtiest, filthiest martini, as a DIP! I was inspired by the viral dirty martini chip for this one, which is basically just putting blue cheese and a green olive on a salt and vinegar chip! This dip has a greek yogurt, cream cheese, and mayonnaise base and is dirtified by pungeant blue cheese, high quality green olives, olive oil, and olive brine.
What to Pair
There are many wine styles that would pair with this dip, like a crisp and herbal Sauvignon Blanc for a white wine, or a cabernet franc with a beautiful balance of savoury and fruit flavours. BUT, the best pairing by far is a dirty martini! Check out my go to recipe posted with my Dirty Martini Pizza!
Ingredients
1/2 cup plain 5% MF Greek-style yogurt
1/2 cup softened cream cheese (1/2 8oz block)
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp oil from jar of olives (can substitute with extra virgin olive oil if needed)
3 tbsp olive brine (optional: replace with 1 tbsp of Gin or Vodka)
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup (~14 olives) chopped unstuffed oil marinated green olives (I used the pitted Chili Lime Frescatrano Olives from Divina Market)
1/2 cup blue cheese of choice
Garnish: Blue cheese crumbles and whole olives
Serve with: Salt and vinegar chips
Directions
Mix together all ingredients in a medium mixing bowl, leaving some blue cheese and olives for garnish.
Transfer dip to a martini glass and garnish with blue cheese crumbles and whole olives.
Serve with salt and vinegar chips and an extra dirty ol’ martini! For a wine pairing, try a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc or a Cabernet Franc.
